Horizon Real Estate Partners is a Manhattan-based owner and operator of multifamily and commercial buildings across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. We are a small, tight-knit, dynamic team where you’ll work closely with senior leadership and take on meaningful responsibility from day one.

About the Role
We’re seeking an Assistant Property Manager with experience who is ready to take ownership of daily operations across our portfolio. This position is ideal for someone who has already worked in property management and is looking for broader exposure, increased responsibility, and long-term growth within a hands-on environment.

You’ll play a key role in operations, tenant relations, leasing, reporting, compliance, and project coordination across properties throughout NYC.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily property operations across multiple properties

  • Communicate directly with tenants, vendors, superintendents, and contractors

  • Prepare, process, and manage leases and renewals

  • Review income and expense reports and assist with budgeting

  • Conduct property inspections and site visits

  • Coordinate vendors and oversee repairs and ongoing projects

  • Ensure compliance with NYC housing regulations and agencies

  • Assist with capital improvement and renovation projects

  • Support ownership with operational reporting and execution

Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years of property management experience preferred

  • NYC multifamily or mixed-use experience strongly preferred

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel required)

  • Experience with property management software is a plus

  • Real estate license a plus (not required)

  • Access to a car preferred, but not required (some properties are easier to reach by car; mileage is reimbursed per IRS guidelines)
